Day 6: 10:45 am: Sunny cool fall day…
Ran a route that was fairly flat.
Well…flatter than running down to the beach…and there was no beach to look at.
I ran down 14th, which is a nice sidewalked road with plenty of trees and a veggie-mart also!
Past the highway and around a lovely neighbourhood on the other side… nice area—never been there before.
Felt great when I ran past a 70 year old lady with her senior dog…however that was before my energy swept out of me.
Continuing home I ran up past the veggie mart, laughing at the folks surrounding me…then about a block later…
My panting began.
Well 15 minutes of continuous running is good… sweat to prove it. Then the following 10 minutes wishing my house was closer….
Laid down in bed to rest and write this blog, shower here I come!
I was gonna say no wonder on the 7th day God rested, I mean…6 days is exhausting!
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Lauren

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s run.
I will run.
Up the hill.
It will be good.
….
Hopeful.
I just thought to myself, after 4 days am I addicted…or am I in the honeymoon stage.
Well let me tell you.
My body ACHES. Like a person who hasn’t moved there body in 25 years…
Stairs are a challenge. However I found myself speed walking in Walmart.
Who knew exercise could be done in a Supercentre without thinking?
Time to go to bed and rest…
Love,
Lauren
As Whitney Houston once said “I’m addicted….addicted to” she said love…right Whitney, right.

Day 4: 9:00am : Walk…almost a speed walk.
Well, the rain never came down, so it was a nice day to walk down to the beach and back.
Today my Dad joined me. The humour in hearing us both huff and puff as we walked briskly up the hill.
Man… we need to do this more often.
My shoes are soaked, and it will be wonderful once I reward myself in late december with new runners!
Off to think of some creative crafts to do today with the kids I babysit afterschool — tomorrow’s a pro-d-day! Yay!
Love always,
Lauren

Day3: 11:30am: Conditions are JUST right…
One of those days that honestly I really DON’T have time to run…but I did!
Woke up late, (11:00am) and got my butt fed, and put on the runners and went. I went down Stayte (I lovely road with a really nice sidewalk.) I ran from my house down 3/4 the way. then turned around and ran 1/4 up. Then I was worn out. Atleast there is SOME progress this week.
I was looking online for marathons/runs. Either looking at the BMO run in early May or the Vancouver Sun Run in late April. Atleast I have made a goal. Now. Stick me with it.
I am thinking in December my reward for sticking with the program will be a new pair of runners.
Which I will need by then.
The humour in all of this, is that I HATE running…. and I make fun of people that have that much dedication to running… but I think its honestly looking at myself who has gained so much weight because I have been lazy since I quit dance when I was 16…and your body goes into shock missing all that regular exercise. This goal not only will help me improve my fitness, but give me a hobby, a task, a purpose– a goal. I watched the Julie/Julia movie, and laughed my head off at Julie trying to learn how to cook, but honestly I could do that, but i would just gain more weight… and that would just be silly. Running…. can it be done? Can someone like me (Lazy, gives up easily, hates when conditions aren’t just right) really make a goal and KEEP it for the next 7 months? Well.. lets see!
Must run (haha…) off of here, back to the real world… I must go work.
Love,
Lauren

Ahhh…. the frustration of the start. So here it is.
I am 20 years old. I am 155lbs. 5’4 and on a mission (other than JUST loosing weight, which I need to…)
I am turning 21 on May 13th. I will be 125 lbs by then, and still 5’4 …that I can not change. I will run a marathon in May. Promise.
Day 1: Simply speaking. I walked briskly down the hill to the beach, attempted to run up the hill…made it barely a block, panted harsh and walked the rest. Hmm… this is gonna be a long long haul.
Day 2: Hmmm much easier. Ran from the begining, in a nice slow jog. Made it 3/4 down the hill. Then went across, and up the hill(jogging) hill got the best of me, and I briskly walked the rest. 30 minutes, not bad. Its beginning to be a cold fall… soon I will be indoors at the gym, atleast there is a tv there.
Well, who ever you are out there reading this. Stick with me, encourage me….maybe just maybe I can do something healthy for myself atleast this once.
Love always,
Lauren
